Why I built it
Kids get gifts all the time — birthdays, holidays, milestones. Very little of it compounds. I wanted to make the long-term option as easy as handing over a card: open an account for your child once, then let everyone who loves them contribute from a link.
How it works
- Open their account. A custodial UGMA/UTMA account in your child's name, with you as custodian. No paperwork marathon, no branch visit, no minimum to start.
- Pick a path. Steady long-term growth, or growth that backs companies making a positive impact. No charts to read.
- Share the link. Send the gift link to family, or print the QR code for the party table. Guests give in under a minute without downloading anything.
What I focused on
The whole product is designed around one moment: a grandparent opening a text message and giving successfully on the first try. That meant no app install, no account creation for givers, and a flow short enough to finish standing in a kitchen.
NestEgg is currently in beta testing on TestFlight — you can join the waitlist at nesteggapp.com.
